A fairly boring day in insider trading land (though we did add one purchase from yesterday to the High Signal List).

As a reminder, discretionary insider trading slows significantly during earnings season, as insiders enter blackout periods and cannot place discretionary trades in the weeks leading up to earnings.

The chart below shows the huge dip in insider trading each quarter during earnings season.

The upside is that most compelling insider dip buys occur after a stock falls indiscriminately following earnings.

The data below is from the Q2 Insider Trading report (read it here), and shows the outperformance of insider dip buys over the last year.

There were 88 new insider trades filed.

1 insider trade was flagged as High Signal. Unlike most of the High Signal Insider Purchases we find, this stock has actually been on a tear and is up almost 200% in the last year, with a couple of insiders buying near the 52-week high. The company has two different business units, and the higher quality unit is now over 50% of the company and growing faster, with better margins, than it was before.
