Connor’s Commentary

There were 163 new insider trades filed, including:

• Carl Icahn bought 15% of Monro (MNRO), and those trades are still coming through

• Exzeo Group (XZO) just IPOd, and 8 insiders bought stock in the IPO

• More insider buying at Avidia Bancorp and Matador Resources, both of which are in our Top Companies list (in the Data Dump section)

• A handful of very interesting purchases at ThredUp (TDUP) and a few other companies (more details in the Today’s Top Trades section)

• The CEO at Las Vegas Sands (LVS) has been selling a ton of the stock (another $25M sold today)

• The General Counsel at Black and Decker (SWK) just sold their entire listed holdings

• and more…

Commentary

Last week basically ended like everyone expected. The S&P snuck below the 50d for the first time in 6 months, and it was there for about 5 seconds before everyone realized that Trump would not allow that to happen, and the government would probably re-open soon.

As I mentioned here all last week, insider trading in October was the most bullish we’ve seen since the April tariff dump, and November is off to an even stronger start.

Our rolling Insider Sentiment score took a little bit of a hit, but that is just because the beginning of August was very strong (while the rest of August was weak), and it just fell out of the 3m window.

Obviously, this market can change in an instant, and we are still below the 20d EMA (which has only happened 3 times during the last 6 months), but it looks like most investors (and insiders) are positioning themselves for this market to run through the end of the year.
