πŸ’°πŸ³ Top CEO Trades (week of 2022-12-09)

The most interesting insider trades of the week πŸ“ˆπŸš€. See which stocks CEOs are buying and selling

Recent CEO Trade Successes

UHAL

The President and two of the largest holders of UHAL bought up $32M of the stock (each) on 2022-11-16 for $53.80/share. The stock closed today at $64.37 for a cool 19% game. They just made another trade that popped up this week that we’ll talk about later

RYAN

The founder and CEO started buying up $55M worth of their stock on 2022-11-16 at a price of $33.86 (and kept buying at prices up to $39.17). Their stock had just been crushed after earnings, so he bought the dip and the stock got up to ~$42 (24% returns from the first purchase) before falling back down to $40.92 today.

This Weeks Top CEO Trades

HHC

Bill Ackman just picked up another $158M of HHC in two chunks at a price of $70 and $75.26. He now owns 1/3 of HHC after beginning to buy them at a price of $79.12 on 2021-01-06. Bill doesn’t appear to be too concerned about the real estate market

GLG

The CEO and one of the largest shareholders each just picked up $11.5M at a price of $1.15 per share. This was part of their PIPE, so if PIPEs/SPACs are your thing, this may be interesting.

SHLS

Dean Solon, the billionaire founder of SHLS (who had stepped down as CEO a while back and stepped down from the board earlier this year), just dumped 100% of his reported holdings ($600M!) in the company. He appears to be getting as far away from the company as possible. Definitely worth looking at if you are an owner of SHLS.

TOST

Bessemer Venture Partners (a well-respected venture capital firm) has had almost $200M worth of options (most likely options they received when they invested in TOST before they went public) become available and they had no interest in holding them. They immediately sold all of them. Not super unusual for VC firms to sell their stock when they are able to, but thought you may find it interesting

I’m hoping to have the code done to be able to show the historic overall returns for each CEO making a purchase in the next few weeks. That’ll let use see how successful these CEOs have been in their previous purchases to help us know if they are worth copying!
